Okay, so Christmas this year was interesting and not nearly as bad as it normally is. Meaning: I wasn't really bored at all, huzzah! I met my cousin Jason "officially" (the last time he came to Christmas was about 13 years ago and I don't remember it at all). We chatted a lot. He has a strange sense of humor, and it takes some getting used to, but he's a cool guy. I also had my cousin Chris ask me if I wanted to go smoke a bowl with him. ...So yes, it was interesting and not really boring at all.

In other news, and on a sad note, Eartha Kitt passed away from a battle with colon cancer. This is a huge loss to the entertainment industry, honestly. And I feel lucky enough to have seen her as Cinderella's fairy godmother on a tour several years ago. What a legend and what a fucking shame. Rest in peace.

2009 clearly cannot come soon enough now.

For no good reason other than to clean up my journal a bit, I'm doing a friend's cut. Comment if you want to stay.

There was a shooting at a local mall here. I was just at this mall last night with my friend. 15 gunshots, 5 people injured. I don't know anything about possible deaths yet, because reports are just all over the place. Two men were arrested at a bus stop at the mall. The weapon was a rifle.

I am freaking out and I wasn't even there. I can't believe something like this happened. The area of Von Mour this happened at was the third floor, which is where all of the children and infant clothing sections are. I'll update this as I learn things. Holy crap, you guys.

ETA: It's on the main page of CNN.com. This is so surreal.

A witness claims two are dead. A woman that was standing next to the gunman at the customer service counter, and (possibly) the gunman himself. There was a man found at the CS counter with a self-inflicted gunshot, so.

ETA #2: Nine (possibly ten) are confirmed dead, including the gunman.

There was a suicide note found from a 19 year old male from my county that says "I'm going out in style."

So, after finishing the last Harry Potter book, I had the strange urge to write drabbles/fic. Here's the thing: I don't do fic? Well, it's a rarity, anyway. I'm one of those people that can't stand fanfic unless it's believable as canon, randomly. Anyway, we decided to spend a couple of hours challenging each other and here are the outcomes of what she'd told me to write.

Please be aware that there are MAJOR SPOILERS under here for anyone not finished reading! )

Um. The season finale of Supernatural kind of broke my brain a little. Why did you need to do that to me, Winchesters and demons? Why? Holy shit. Just.

Supernatural needs to quit pwning my soul lately, because what you will find under the cut is something I have NEVER done for this fandom! sdjfklsfd I should be asleep, but I'm not. Fuck you, brain.

Theory/prediction from 'All Hell Breaks Loose Part 1' but regarding 'All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2', as well. )

Friends cut.

If you get cut, please don't be offended or hurt (at least not for too long if you are). This is just something I need to do for me, I hope you can understand that.

I should also add that if you've been wanting to un-friend me for whatever reason, and I'm not saying anyone does, but IF you do... now is the time to do it. I promise I won't be offended or hurt by your decision. This is a time for change, so I'm welcoming it in all forms.

These can be toward absolutely anyone/anything. Have fun.

In regards to this entry. Friends cut has been made. If you feel you were removed wrongly, let me know. I'm willing to add pretty much anyone back that didn't want to be removed.

Random fact of the day: I almost got jumped by two 13 year olds (the kids playing Dodger and Oliver, no less) last week at rehearsal when they heard me say I hated President Bush. WTF.

And ... a meme. Because I'm just that bored.

Make an anonymous comment with the following:

1. One "secret"
2. One thing you LOVE about me.
3. One random thing
4. One love note
5. Lyrics to a song
6. How old you are

8. A hint to who you are [if you feel compelled to]
9. One thing you HATE about me.

There's one thing about me that I can honestly say I'm not sure if it's a good quality or bad. I'm passionate. If I set a goal, and become passionate about that goal, I never relent. A good example is my passion to be a Broadway actress. This passion has been going on headstrong for a good 11 years now. ;)

Anyways, here's the point of this post. As several of you probably read last night, I've now become completely obsessed with Bare. Now, most people on my friends list are probably like "wtf is that?" Bare, to put it simply, is the show that would be my absolute favorite show ever if it weren't for the fact that I've been obsessed with Rent for 4 years now. Ha! And that's saying something. Okay, but yeah. It's an absolutely amazing show that had one of the best casts I've seen for any show ever. And even if the following by some miracle works, but we're not able to get back that cast, I think this is a show everyone needs to check into and needs to see and should see. You can find out more about it at http://www.bareapopopera.com

I've set a new goal for myself - for the fans of this show - and I am quickly becoming very passionate about this goal. A relatively unrealistic idea hit me last night. "How amazing would it be for the fans of this show to raise the money to get it on Broadway?" Now, I know, as many fans as this show has, I highly doubt we could all raise a couple million dollars to get it to Dodgers. But then another, more realistic idea hit me. "We could start raising the money, and get this talked about. Get press, send letters to people, get the attention we would need. If this is done right, maybe someone would see just how badly we all want this show on Broadway and pitch in the rest?" I know Rosie O'Donnell (sp?) was quoted saying that she'd have loved to produce this show. WELL! If we get her attention and prove just how badly we want this show back, maybe she'd help.

This show really could become as huge of a hit as Rent. It really, really could. And I'm almost positive if it even looked possible that this show could get back on it's feet, the actors would be back for it in a heartbeat. They hold this show even closer to their hearts than we do.

Now, here's where I need honest opinions and comments. Whatever. Do any of you think that 1.) this could even possibly work? and 2.) you would be willing to help out however you can?

Just remember, every reality began with a dream.

EDITED TO ADD: It seems most people are definitely for this, though they're being wary, which is understandable. Don't want to get hopes up and the like.

As of right now, I've got a couple of friends helping me really get on its feet. We're going to try and have a website set up by the end of the week. After that's up and people start contributing, we're really going to get the ball rolling on this. By "get the ball rolling", I mean we're going to be contacting people and getting word out there. Yes, we're going to try and get in touch with cast members from the show. Yes, we're going to even try and get in contact with the Matt and Damon (the creators of BARE). Any lengths we can go to, we will.

Also, another idea that we came up with is an online auction. It won't just strictly consist of things signed by cast members, but anything you guys want to contribute. Do you make things and think you can make something BARE-related or you think people would love? We'll gladly take it! More information on this to come as we plan it out.

Thank you to everyone who's said they'll help. It means the world to us.
